Our shop minimum for tattoos is $100. This covers our cost for supplies to provide you with a clean tattoo experience.

It is hard to give a price for a tattoo without having an in person consultation.  For price inquires please use the book a tattoo link to start the consultation process with one of our artists.  You could also come into the studio to consult with an artist any day we are open.

We take walk-ins based on studio availability. Your best bet to get in as a walk-in would be to give us a call when we open for the day to check the day's availability.

Illinois state law is you must be 18 years of age to receive a tattoo.  There are no exceptions for parental consent.

Yes we do, our artists have much experience in covering up old tattoos and scars.  Feel free to contact one of our artists to start a consultation today.

For piercings we are going to recommend waiting 6 to 8 weeks before swimming or soaking in any water.

For tattoos we are going to recommend waiting 2 to 4 weeks before swimming or soaking in any water. 

Every tattoo and piercing heals a bit differently so these are not exact times. It is best to ask your artist or piercer what their recommended time to wait before swimming or soaking under water. 

We offer child lobe piercings starting for children age 5 and up.  Please read through our ID requirement section for additional information.

For most body piercings (most things besides ears) we start offering them at ages 14 and up with parental consent.  Please read our ID requirements for additional information. 

Here at Sink or Swim Tattoo all of our piercings are done in an aseptic manner.  This means single use and with the most precise of sterile techniques.  For this reason we only offer piercings by means of needle.  Piercing guns can not be sterilized properly and cause much more trauma to the ear than needed.
